Acid And Bases

This is how to make some cool colour changes read this.

So firstly you will need indicator liquid.

To make that you will need red cabbage that you can get from Pak'n'save, New World and many other shops and stores.

Then get a pan and pour some water in it. Then dip the red cabbage pieces into the pot. Bring to the boil and boil it to 10 to 15 mins. The juices makes the water reddish pink.

Step 2.

Once that's done get many chemicals called acids bases and neutral. I recommend starting with vinegar. Pour any type of chemical into the indicator and give it a little stir. Then it should change colour and explode your mind! So have fun experimenting with many types of chemicals.

This is how it changes colour

Any type of acid or alkali will react to the indicator and make a chemical reaction causing the chemical to change colour. But neutral will not react to the liquid and will do nothing.

An acid turns purple pink and red. So if your colour changes into these colours it's an acid.

And base known as alkali changes to very light blue then teal dark green then finally yellow.
